Deck Cadet
A Deck Cadet is an officer-in-training who assists the Chief Officer in navigating and managing the ship. Their duties include maintaining the ship's log, handling cargo operations, and ensuring the vessel's overall safety and stability.
1-Year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) Course
This is a one-year pre-sea training course approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (DGS) and affiliated with the Indian Maritime University (IMU). Upon completion, cadets undergo 18 months of onboard training.
Eligibility
- Pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
- Minimum PCM aggregate of 60% and 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th.
3-Year B.Sc. Nautical Science Course
A direct residential degree program that provides comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical training in navigation, seamanship, and cargo handling.
Eligibility
- Pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
- Minimum PCM aggregate of 60% and 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th.
Engine Cadet
An Engine Cadet is a trainee engineer who works under the supervision of the Chief Engineer. Their responsibilities include the maintenance and operation of the ship's main engine, generators, and other mechanical and electrical systems.
4-Year B.Tech in Marine Engineering
A four-year residential degree program covering all aspects of marine engineering, machinery, and shipboard systems.
Eligibility
- Pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
- Minimum PCM aggregate of 60% and 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th.
1-Year Graduate Marine Engineering (GME)
A one-year post-graduate diploma for engineering graduates seeking to enter the maritime industry.
Eligibility
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.
- Minimum 50% marks in final year and 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th.
2-Year Diploma in Marine Engineering (DME)
A two-year diploma program for candidates with a technical diploma.
Eligibility
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering.
- Minimum 50% marks in final year and 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th.
Trainee ETO
A Trainee Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all electrical, electronic, and control systems on board a ship, including the navigation equipment and engine automation.
4-Month Pre-Sea Training Course for ETO
This is a specialized pre-sea course for electrical and electronics engineering graduates to become a Trainee ETO.
Eligibility
- B.E. / B. Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication / Communication Engineering or Electronics
- Minimum 60% marks in final year and 50% marks in English in std 10th or std 12th.
